BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA. has an opening for a Maintenance Superintendent. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all maintenance activities and operations are performed correctly and according to the written procedures. Ensure that maintenance activities are documented according to procedures and cGMP's.
  • Supervising and assigning tasks for the facility maintenance staff.
  • Maintaining the production and facility equipment according to the quality standard of the production area.
  • Diagnosing mechanical problems, provide correct solutions for breakdowns by applying proven technical skills in a wide range of fields.
  • Modifying, repairing, installing, maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting various types of utility, process and building equipment. To train junior staff in proper procedure.
  • Improving the function of reliability of all production and facility equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems equipment and components.
  • Performing predictive maintenance analysis and recommend annual maintenance schedules and capital purchases to manager.
  • Basic programming and setup of instrumentation as required.
  • Overseeing and participating in the installation of equipment.
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance and calibrations of equipment and utility systems.
  • Maintaining parts and spares inventories, ordering equipment and services.
  • Working shift work with off hour call-ins as required.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • Trade certification would be an asset (Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Stationary Engineer license.)
  • Three years relevant industrial and mechanical experience.
  • Two years' supervisory experience.
  • Controls and instrumentation experience.
