Summary:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as the Site PDS Head at our Whitby Region Operations (WRO) site. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead and develop our Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) business, ensuring outstanding client service and balanced growth. Your ambitious leadership will drive world-class performance and flawlessly execute strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participate in developing client relationships and sales of services as a member of the PDS Senior Management Team within PDS North America.
  • Set strategy and direction for the PDS organization, aligning with Thermo Fisher's vision and goals.
  • Lead, develop, and grow the PDS WRO business.
  • Interact with key clients and resolve customer issues, encouraging a strictly customer-focused organization.
  • Meet or exceed planned revenue and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with PDS NA Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members to manage PDS NA business and resources effectively across sites.
  • Ensure the flow of new business to the site.
  • Establish and report critical metrics to monitor the business and respond to underperformance of On Time Delivery and Right First Time.
  • Identify and resolve local issues impeding the growth of PDS at WRO.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet annual value capture targets.
  • Identify talents and ensure an accurate succession plan, acting as a role model in alignment with Thermo Fisher values.
  • Actively exchange standard methodologies and lessons learned within the Thermo Fisher network.
  • Guide staff to achieve tactical and strategic business goals; responsible for results including costing, methods, and staffing.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure all direct reports follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure efficient operation of the function. Advise staff on administrative policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pharmacy. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in product development or contract manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical product development or product transfer experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Leadership role with multiple direct reports.

Equivalency:

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
