JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Team Member, Production to join our team at our Thrive Cannabis facility in Townsend, Ontario. The individual will report directly to the Supervisor, Cultivation and is responsible for cultivation and harvesting cannabis in both indoor and outdoor facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in cultivation related activities such as pruning, planting, defoliating, crop maintenance, harvesting and cycle turnover as required.
  • Participate in sanitation of cultivation areas
  • Communicate and escalate all issues with the crop and/or the production process to all the relevant parties as required
  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs and comply with Health Canada's Cannabis Act.
  • Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss.
  • Participate in the continuous scouting and monitoring of the crop for health, pest and diseases.
  • Release biological control agents (BCA's) as part of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
  • maintaining production records to Cannabis Act Good Production Practice (GPP) standards
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness in all aspects of the workplace
  • Maintain equipment and tools necessary for production tasks
  • Maintain production records to Cannabis Act Good Production Practice (GPP) standards
  • Conduct drying process per SOP and work instructions.
  • Conduct product curing per SOP and work instructions.
  • Run, clean, maintain trimming equipment.
  • Follow Standard Operating procedures for Drying, bucking, curing, machine and hand trimming and bulk packaging in preparation for oil extraction and/or flower sales.
  • Precise hand trimming will be required for flower sales.
  • Accurately weigh and record post-harvest materials.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area allowing for the proper segregation of materials and processes.
  • Adhere to departmental, site and corporate safety policies.
  • Responsible for facility and equipment cleaning to maintain standards.
  • Sanitization and sterilization and level 2 cleanings of cultivation rooms and post-harvest processing equipment such stainless steel racks and shelves, etc., and processing rooms
  • Maintain production timeline.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required and some post-secondary preferred or equivalent related work experience within manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • An understanding of GMP is an asset
    Must demonstrate the following skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Can work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience working within a highly-regulated environment
  • Well organized and demonstrate" top notch" time management skills
  • Effective written communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, reaching and pulling up to 30 lbs.
  • Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels ranging from 40 to 70%
  • Working under time-based deadlines
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms.
  • This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.
  • Extensive use of PPE when required
