Job Title: Sr. Cloud Engineer (IT/OT/IIoT)

Are you a Cloud Engineering expert ready to take on an ambitious challenge? Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is looking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer to join our remote global innovative Innovation & IIoT / AI Hub team. This is a unique opportunity to work on world-class cloud infrastructure and data engineering projects, driving technological advancements in IT, OT, and IIoT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based data solutions using AWS services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Glue, Athena, and Lambda
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines for efficient data processing and analytics
  • Implement data lakes and data warehousing solutions on AWS
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and efficient retrieval in cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and data pipelines
  • Optimize query performance and cost-efficiency for large-scale data analytics
  • Implement IoT data integration solutions for real-time monitoring and analytics
  • Support the migration of on-premises data to cloud platforms
  • Know the latest emerging cloud technologies and standard methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, preferably with AWS

- AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty certification

  • Strong proficiency in AWS services including S3, EC2, Glue, Athena, and EMR
  • Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Expertise in SQL and Python programming
  • Experience with data processing frameworks like PySpark
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IoT data integration and real-time analytics
  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with DataOps and MLOps practices
