The science team at Vital is seeking a passionate and creative scientist to fill the role of Senior Scientist - Assay Development. We're looking for a teammate proficient in assay development and validation. Someone with exceptional leadership skills and experience who can help construct our assay development pipeline and serve as a guide and mentor the associate scientists in their team. This role will involve you leading from the bench to develop and validate our next-generation assays with your team. We are constantly optimizing our lab to help push science forward at unprecedented rates. You will be expected and encouraged to actively contribute to our product development direction, and present novel procedural and scientific concepts that will positively impact all aspects of Vital's operations. What you'll be doing: Develop, optimize and validate new assays for our diagnostic product pipeline Planning, running and/or supervising experiments for assay development Author, review, and hone our standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve quality and accelerate our assay pipeline; Analyze clinical samples in an FDA-compliant manner Be actively involved in laboratory management and leadership of associate scientists Partner closely to provide assay development support to our research, manufacturing science, downstream formulation, and engineering teams to achieve performance requirements. Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Communicate effectively with peers and leadership to support decision-making, including summarizing results in reports and presentations Contribute to departmental strategies and provide input on lab requirements and improvements Architect systems and processes to streamline our assay development and evaluation of methods. Provide mentorship and leadership in the field of assay development What you'll need: Post-graduate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field with 7+ years of hands on experience in an industrial GMP setting Hands on experience with method development and validation following regulatory guidelines A strong data analysis/statistics background Experience in nanoparticle development program will be considered an asset Ability to communicate results and concepts clearly to fellow scientists Ability to handle a diverse workload High learning agility An appreciation of puns What you'll get: An opportunity to change the face of medical diagnostics Working with a high-functioning, deeply motivated team A competitive compensation package An environment where you can showcase your talent and know that your contributions, thoughts, ideas and expertise are valued every day
