The opportunity

As a Senior Manager, Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing market strategies within the pharmaceutical sector. Your expertise will drive B2B business development and key account management, ensuring market penetration and commercial success.

How you'll spend your day

  • Market Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Cluster Head and cross-functional teams to design and implement market strategies, focusing on lifecycle management, market entry, and business growth.
  • Commercial Outcomes: Lead efforts to achieve commercial targets, identify new business opportunities, and manage key accounts to deliver best-in-class service.
  • Market Analysis: Provide insights into market conditions, customer trends, and competition to inform strategic decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and bring products to market effectively.
  • Portfolio Management: Develop strategic plans to increase market share and maximize the potential of the Medis portfolio.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities meet regulatory and compliance requirements.


Additional Duties:

  • Prioritize and analyze market opportunities, collaborating with the Cluster Head to develop robust strategies.
  • Identify profitable portfolios and address sales gaps through strategic partnerships.
  • Stay abreast of market trends to uncover new opportunities and provide regular updates to the Cluster team.
  • Manage daily operations and planning within the Cluster to achieve KPIs.
  • Drive commercial results, negotiate offers, and manage agreements with customers.
  • Provide market intelligence on pricing strategies and advise on action plans for low-margin products.
  • Address disputes and settlements, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Undertake additional tasks/projects as assigned by the Cluster Head.

Your experience and qualifications

  • As a Senior Manager, Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing market strategies within the pharmaceutical sector. Your expertise will drive B2B business development and key account management, ensuring market penetration and commercial success.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years in commercial roles, with a strong emphasis on contract negotiations and regulatory compliance.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Experience in regulatory, legal/IP matters is highly valued.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities with a focus on achieving success.
  • Commercial Acumen: High numeracy and analytical skills with a commercial focus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent business partnering, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies from lead generation to sales.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Project Management: Strong skills in project management.
  • Industry Insight: Deep understanding of the generic pharmaceutical industry and ability to navigate a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
