Lab Technician Laboratory - Microbiology

Qualifications include:

• Completion of approved Lab Technician's course
• OSMT, CSMLS Certification is required or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Previous experience in specimen processing in Microbiology required, minimum 1 year recent experience preferred.
• Laboratory skills, including centrifuging, aliquoting, and distributing specimens to various workstations.
• Clerical skills, data entry, labelling, and filing and other related duties
• Maintains a clean and safe work area according to established policies and procedures
• Computer skills, including previous experience in the use of LIS is required
• Demonstrated excellent communication.
• Demonstrated characteristics of a strong team player
• Available to work day, evening, night and weekend shifts
• Satisfactory attendance record as per the Health Centre's Attendance Management Program Policy SJ-08-01-08.
