Grade: H0:06
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $71,955 - $89,954 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Shifts: Day
Status: Temporary Full-time (2 year contract with potential to renew)

Position Summary
As a member of the NORC Innovation Centre Team, the Data Analyst is responsible for supporting data management and analytics tasks within the department. These include analyzing and interpreting data, conceptualizing and executing new data projects, and working collaboratively with other members of the team to interpret data findings and turn them into data products and reports. The role will involve working with large provincial data warehouses and databases, including electronic health records. Duties

  • Analyze and interpret large datasets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, R, and other software and tools as needed
  • Conceptualize and execute new data projects to support multiple workstreams and the strategy of the NORC Innovation Centre
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to identify data needs and interpret data findings
  • Create data products and reports, both interactive and static, including data visualizations and maps
  • Present data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure data projects are completed successfully through good project management, priority setting, and ensuring deadlines and milestones are coordinated with interdependent initiatives of the Centre
  • Seek out new datasets and construct new data by linking different datasets
  • Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
  • Work in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act, in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Statistics, or recognized equivalent is required
  • 1-2 years of related industry experience in data analytics and data visualization
  • Experience with data analysis tools
  • Excellent problem solving, logic, and organizational skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with provincial population and health datasets and/or electronic medical records is preferred
  • Experience with data mapping is preferred
