Overview:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the filling line operator will be responsible for safe operation of liquid filling, labeling, bottling, capping etc. machinery for a variety of cleaning and home care products such as liquid dish soap, fabric softener, laundry detergent, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment pre-start up checks, Start up, Change-over, CIP and Sanitation on the filling line machinery.
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of the filling line machinery, ensuring that the labels and other printed materials are correct, as well as the date code, lot number and any other applicable information are correct.
  • Responsible for ensuring the fill weights are correct for the type of the product filled as per requirements of the current specifications, bottle caps torque is at required level and that all other final product attributes are within specification through hourly in-process checks.
  • Overseeing the performance of the entire filling line making sure that the line meets the standard (i.e. bottles per minute, number of rejects etc.)
  • Full awareness of the Production Schedule. All production activities must be performed in strict adherence to the Production Schedule.
  • Working with the shift Supervisor to ensure the full quality documents package is complete and accurate for each product run following the requirements of GMP and GDP.
  • In collaboration with Maintenance perform minor preventive maintenance activities (PMs) as per PM schedule, fill in all necessary forms
  • Strictly adhering to all Safety policies and procedures as outlined in the company policy and OHSA requirements. Reporting any hazards and unsafe conditions to the Company Management in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Compliance with the company Production and Quality standards.
  • Actively participate in various Continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • 3+ years of experience operating and minor troubleshooting industrial equipment preferably in personal care, household chemicals, food or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Ability to follow Health and Safety protocols as prescribed by the respective authorities (OHSA) as well as by the Company’s protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to follow Quality rules and regulations (i.e. GMP) as well as Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
  • Ability to work in a fast – paced environment and posses good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Very detail oriented. Must be able to follow work instructions and all standard operating procedures.
  • Possesses technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance system is an asset.
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills. Familiar with 5S and other organizational tools.
  • Ability to learn how to operate multiple pieces of new equipment and perform troubleshooting within short period of time.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Forklift licence is an asset.

Salary Range: $21 - $23
