Overview:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Batching operator will play a critical role in the compounding of home care cleaning materials both liquid and solids in accordance with specified product formulas.  The Batching operator will be responsible for operating batching equipment, lifting equipment (i.e. forklift) and overseeing batching process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of all batching equipment, including mixing tanks, pumps, automatic and manual valves etc.
  • Perform Pre-start up checks, Start up, CIP and Sanitation and Housekeeping in the Batching Area.
  • Producing batches following standard recipes making sure that they are within applicable specifications and meet quality standards.
  • Always be fully conversant with the weekly Production Schedule. Manufacture in strict adherence to the production schedule making sure that filling lines always have a product to run.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensure accurate record keeping as per requirements of current SOPs, GMP and GDP.
  • Strictly adhering to and following all Safety policies and procedures as outlined in the OHSA and the company policies and procedures. Reporting any hazards and unsafe conditions to the Company Management in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in various Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Complete pre-start up check list associated with the forklift. Operate forklifts in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • 3+ years of experience operating and minor troubleshooting industrial equipment preferably in personal care, household chemicals, food or pharmaceutical industries. Previous batching experience is an asset.
    • Ability to follow Health and Safety protocols as prescribed by the respective authorities as well as by the Company’s protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to follow Quality rules and regulations (GMP) as well as Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
  • Ability to work in a fast – paced environment and have above average problem-solving skills.
    • Great attention to detail. Must be able to follow compounding/formula forms instructions to ensure correct order of addition and consistent quality of the product within applicable specifications.
  • Capable of multi-tasking while keeping track of multiple ingredients/raw materials.
  • Possesses high Technical and Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills. Familiar with 5S and other organizational tools.
  • Ability to learn how to operate multiple pieces of new equipment and trouble shoot in a short period of time.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Fork truck license is an asset.
  • Flexible work schedule.

 

Salary Range: $21.50 - $22.50
