Job Overview Vital Biosciences is seeking a talented cross-disciplinary Systems Engineer with experience in the field of in-vitro diagnostics to work on a path-breaking product. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of complex system-level applications within Vital's flagship product. This role will engage exclusively with cross-disciplinary projects that require understanding of the system from the perspective of mechatronics, microfluidics, chemical interactions and software. Responsibilities Design, develop and optimize applications related to system-level features on Vital's flagship VitalOne system. These applications include automated failure-detection mechanisms, reliability-enhancing features, and usability features. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for system-level applications. Develop prototypes to enable assessment of key technical risks Perform detailed development, characterization and performance verification of the application Work with design teams to integrate new applications into existing system design Work closely with R&D teams to implement and integrate new technologies into existing diagnostic platforms. Participate as a key stakeholder in scoping, designing and implementing interfaces between various sub-assemblies and sub-systems based on engineering specifications Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance processes. Participate in the development of documentation, including system requirements, design specifications, and test protocols. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related discipline. Motivated candidates fresh from university are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated track record of solving inter-disciplinary problems Demonstrated track record of meaningful detailed work in one or more of the following areas: (i) bio-chemical reactive systems (ii) image analysis (iii) microfluidics (iv) integration of electronic components into a functional assembly Meaningful experience and proficiency with a programming language is a must Prior experience in the field of in-vitro diagnostics is a plus Excellent problem-solving, data analysis and critical thinking skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
