Job Summary

Under supervision of senior chemist/Scientific leader, Analytical Development, responsible for performing assigned activities in analytical method development, and supporting assigned comprehensive testing for API evaluation, formulation evaluation/optimization, compatibility testing for NPD process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares working plan for assigned projects and provides timeline to Scientific Leader.
  • Working with senior chemist to support development of stability indicative analytical methods for drug substance and finished product.
  • Performs analytical tests for drug substance, identifications, and wet chemistry for API evaluation.
  • Support senior chemist to performs analytical tests for PE/PO samples, including sample preparation of assay and dissolution.
  • Documents and reports result as per established SOPs under guidance of senior chemist.
  • Work as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Participates in departmental housekeeping and other pertinent duties as assigned in accordance with safety and GMP requirements.
  • Demonstrates corporate values in the performance of the work and interactions with others.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.
  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.
  • All other relevant duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program, with a focus in a scientific area - applicants with an added computer science background are an asset
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, timeline driven and work well under pressure.
  • Experience: Must have solid Microsoft Office skills (such as Word and Excel, experience with MS Access and MS Project is a benefit) and the ability to work independently and in a team setting
