Location Information (Hybrid):

This role is based at our Burlington, Ontario facility, supporting our Lab Automation group, an ISO 9001 certified organization. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with up to 1 day per week remote working. At this location we design, manufacture, and install robotic solutions globally to help our major customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields accelerate their drug discovery and synthetic biology research. How you will make an impact:

The Senior Sourcing Specialist leads the supplier management process to achieve the company objectives. Collaborates with a cross-functional team of project management, technical, quality, finance and other key colleagues to prioritize sourcing initiatives, develops sourcing strategies, negotiates contracts, supports spend migration from incumbent to preferred suppliers, and handles preferred supplier relationships.

What you will supply:

Sourcing and Procurement

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value while protecting the company's interests.
  • Handle inflation, sourcing savings, and purchased-part variances (PPV) to ensure operational goals are achieved. Analyze spend data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead supplier onboarding and development activities.
  • Review and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet their sourcing needs.
  • Handle supplier relationships, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Identify and complete risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing activities and performance metrics.
  • Provide material delivery status reports to the Project Managers and issue Work Orders to the floor
  • Run and maintain supplier Non-Disclosure Agreements

How will you get here?

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 5 years' relevant procurement/sourcing experience in a project based or manufacturing environment
  • CSCP or SCMP designation is preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven understanding of buying strategies, supply chain processes, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong use of Excel
