Job Summary:
The Operational Excellence Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and implementing initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the organization. This position involves coordinating various activities related to process improvement, data analysis, and project management to contribute to overall operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Process Improvement: Collaborate with teams to identify areas for operational improvement and assist in developing and implementing streamlined processes.
2. Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in operational performance.
3. Project Coordination: Coordinate and support the implementation of operational excellence projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes, workflows, and improvement initiatives.
5. Training Support: Assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to operational excellence and process improvement.
6. Continuous Monitoring: Create, monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure ongoing operational effectiveness.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather information, share updates, and ensure collaboration on improvement initiatives.
8. Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality assurance efforts by ensuring adherence to operational standards and best practices.
Accountabilities:
1. Operational Efficiency: Accountable for supporting initiatives that contribute to operational efficiency and excellence.
2. Project Implementation: Accountable for coordinating the successful implementation of operational excellence projects.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Process Improvement Methodologies: Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
2. Data Analysis: Intermediate data analysis skills to interpret and present findings from operational data.
3. Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles and the ability to coordinate project activities.
4. Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with teams and stakeholders.
5. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in process documentation and data analysis.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in a role involving process improvement, project coordination, or operational support.
3. Familiarity with operational excellence tools and methodologies is an advantage.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
5. Knowledge with analytical software, ex: Minitab.
6. Experience working in cross-functional teams is desirable.
7. LSS Green Belt is an asset.
