Job summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Tanis, a team member is responsible for carrying out daily activities related to gelatin based edible production and post-production processing. Involving running and cleaning machinery, processing gummies prior to and following production: pre-weighing, demolding, sugar coating, measurements, syrup production.

As a Team Member, Tanis, you will be responsible for….

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation and execution of edible/gummy cooks.

  • Running/assisting with machinery involves with depositing, demolding, mold greasing, sugar sanding, dishwashing.

  • Ensure consistency of product through adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality control sampling.

  • Follow defined Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to ensure the highest-level quality.

  • Where trained, performing verification of process and documentation may be required.

  • Be a steward of Aurora's Values in Play, an ambassador for our company, our product and our clients

  • Ensure that proper sanitation is maintained for all production equipment and tools including workspaces, processing equipment, containers, and appliances.

  • Work towards meeting department goals around efficiencies, yields and cost.

  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs and comply with Health Canada's Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series)

  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements.

  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Close attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, coupled with a sound mechanical aptitude.

  • Proficient with basic arithmetic

  • Excellent organizational skills, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate to excellent computer skills in MS Office and electronic batchrecords (eBR)

  • Excellent time management, decision making, and interpersonal

Education & Experience:

  • Experience working in a GMP environment is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.

  • Must be able to wear Proper PPE (jump suits, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.)

  • Ability to handle stress while performing multiple tasks.

  • Must have ability to work independently and within a team environment

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in loud environments.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to work in warm environments.

  • Flexible in working location/tasks. Daily activities may not be consistent depending on weekly production targets.

  • Ability to work in environments with strong odors.

  • Ability to work in fast pace environments

  • This role is in one of Aurora's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.
