Job summary
Reporting to the VP, Innovation and International Operations the Program Leader =, Global Operations Business Development will help build flexible capacity to supply cannabis products to key markets. The tightly regulated, yet dynamic, nature of the cannabis business presents significant challenges, requiring adaptable systems that can flex according to demand and supply requirements.
This role is responsible for scoping solutions, make clear recommendations and ultimately implementing new processes and systems that will enable Aurora's hybrid supply chain to deliver cannabis products to our various markets in a compliant and agile manner. This role will function in a global matrix environment, and the successful candidate must be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to deliver on the project's goals.
Major Responsibilities / Duties
• Work with both departmental stakeholders and leadership teams to define and prioritize the strategic objectives for all assigned initiatives
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to build out robust plans to drive the entire lifecycle of both strategic and operational initiatives
• In collaboration with stakeholders, make clear recommendations to the business on what processes/systems should be implemented to best deliver on the organization's goals.
• Coordinate and hold accountable all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects; be solutions-oriented to resolve any and all issues which may impact the successful (and timely) completion of projects
• Report on project metrics to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed; provide weekly updates the Project Owner to provide to the Executive Leadership Team and/or the broader business
• Where required, escalate issues that put the project at risk
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong project management skills
• Understanding of, and experience working in, the cannabis industry and end-to-end supply chain processes is a strong asset
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• Must be able to work effectively in a matrix organization, managing multiple stakeholder groups
• Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage relationships and activities deliver on clearly stated milestones
• Ability to distil complex information to enable effective decision-making by senior leadership
• Ability to think strategically while balancing tactical issues
Education & Experience
• 8+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Distribution and Logistics, or a related field.
• Project leadership experience is critical, with a track record of accountability, ownership and delivery of results.
• Experience working in a global matrix organization is an asset.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, food, or cannabis is an asset.
