BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA has openings for Production Technicians. These are permanent full-time positions located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

The candidate will be trained to perform the following operations:

  • Operating manual and automated equipment to perform batch operations.
  • Controlling processes from start-up to shut down, including unit operations of equipment systems, recovery, filtration, and purification.
  • Training will be provided for handling of the raw materials that we handle here at BioVectra.
  • Performing process sampling and,
  • Collaborating with other departments on process and equipment training for successful completion of manufacturing batches.
  • BioVectra has Standard Operating procedures for each of the work exercises that an operator will be doing on the floor, you will also provide feedback to improve this process.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRA’s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in the BIOVECTRA Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • High school diploma.
  • Two years’ work experience in a related field (food service, agricultural, manufacturing, brewery/winery, food safety etc).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Industrial experience in pharma an asset.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices experience an asset.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Able to lift up to 25 kg.
