About the Opportunity

Reporting to Research Manager, and under the supervision of the Research Data Analyst, the Research Data Entry Clerk supports the execution of research within the Division of Cardiology through the maintenance of multiple clinical trial and registry datasets. The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for reviewing patient health records from various medical sources/computer systems and entering data into electronic registries, developing and maintaining methods of tracking information through databases and spreadsheets, and producing data summaries. The Data Entry Clerk supports data quality and improvement through the development and execution of routine data checks and by initiating data queries with study staff as required. Other duties include emailing study sites, filing, operating office equipment, and other duties consistent within the scope of the job, as required. The Data Entry Clerk works within a collaborative Research Team environment offering a flexible work schedule.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Successful completion of Grade XII
  • High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Previous research experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using MS Excel spreadsheets and formulas to query data and generate reports required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of research, data, and patient information is essential
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Full-time, long-assignment (75 hours bi-weekly)
  • Two-year assignment beginning as soon as possible
  • This role requires you to be onsite and is based in Halifax, NS

Compensation and Benefits

$15.75 - $19.69 Hourly

$30,721 - $38,401
