Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the QEII Dispensary Pharmacist Team Lead will be responsible for supporting the dispensary staff with day-to-day dispensary demands, developing, and implementing training plans for new staff, working collaboratively to improve efficiencies and dispensing processes, and supporting staff through change. The team lead will need to draw on prior dispensary, clinical and teaching/preceptorship experience to support the team of dispensary staff. As preparation for implementation of the new clinical information system (OPOR) begins, the team lead will be integral in early training, supporting workflow during the transition, and engaging in quality improvement and change management work.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
• Eligible for the registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists required
• Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience with BDM Pharmacy software and hospital dispensary experience required
• Knowledge of medication patient safety therapeutics required
• Experience in evidence based clinical research or quality improvement methodology an asset
• Strong teaching ability/experience required
• Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature required
• Proven effective oral and written communication skills required
• Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
• Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and to work well under time pressures required
• Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
