Job Summary

Reporting to IT Manager, We're looking for a dynamic professional to plant their roots with us as our newest Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance (Commercial). In this role, you will report into the Senior Manager, Commercial Finance and play a key role in the growth of reporting and analytics in our Finance Team. You will be responsible for establishing forecasts, developing/implementing financial processes and building the financial models that provide the strategies and insights into actionable information. As the Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting (Commercial) you will…

  • Assist in updating key monthly reports and communicating to business leaders (KPI trends, commission reports, revenue, and profitability reports, segment P&L, etc), reviewing and approving product pricing strategies and reques and developing standard costs for innovation products
  • Develop and maintain our financial planning and reporting infrastructure to support Commercial team's success
  • Support the development of the full financial forecast, including OPEX and headcount budgeting
  • Review budget versus actuals and perform risks and opportunities assessments
  • Design and implement margin optimization strategies within the Canadian Consumer and Medical segments
  • Own and build the entire business unit P&L - includes understanding what types of costs go through OPEX and CAPEX, and understanding efficiencies among vendors and types of spend
  • Provide guidance on matters requiring Finance support (i.e. AP process improvements, ad-hoc reporting asks, financial metric analysis, etc.)
  • Design profitability models (DCF, cost/benefit analysis, project analysis, etc.) for potential new investments, projects, and partnerships to provide business decision support during negotiations
  • Provide business decision support reporting, board decks, business performance, and other reporting requirements and assist with ad-hoc requests, project coordination, FP&A support to other internal clients as needed
  • Execute and adhere to software development lifecycle best practices

You would be the best fit for this role if you have…

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • 5 years of business decision support experience, preferably with a publicly traded company, global organization, public accounting firm, management consulting, or investment banking
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical reporting tools
  • Prior experience using a multi-dimensional ERP system for management reporting and providing financial and analytical support to those outside the Finance function
  • A CFA, CPA, MBA or relevant Accounting or Finance designation
