How will you make an impact?
Unity Lab Services offers coordinated lab service, support, and supply management, providing a comprehensive solution. This outstanding position allows you to contribute to routine lab support services, enabling our clients to fully dedicate themselves to their innovative research. Your role in promoting a safe and forward-thinking work environment will be essential in implementing site safety programs, analyzing cost savings, and driving process improvement initiatives.
Perform lab equipment verifications and pH meter calibrations following company protocols, maintaining flawless records as needed
Biological Material Management: Access cryo- and ultra-low freezers to organize, transfer, or remove materials in an accurate and timely manner and track records in an internal spreadsheet. Using PIMS/Mosaic systems to enter biological materials upon arrival, assess and update current inventory.
Media Sciences: prepare media, buffer, ethanol dilutions, and reagents according to customer requirements.
Lab Support: standard protein conjugations, aliquot materials and register biological samples in customer database.
Molecular Biology Service: perform routine DNA scale-ups with transformation, Maxi and Mini Preps
Tissue Culture Service: maintain typical cell lines and perform established cell line passaging, seeding, harvesting, bulk up, mycoplasma testing, and gel electrophoresis
Report job specific metrics to Site Supervisor and maintain world-class record-keeping.
Works primarily at customer sites.
Regularly required to lift 30 lbs, and up to 35lbs occasionally.
Regularly required to stand, walk and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods.
Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, freezers, liquid nitrogen, etc.)
How will you get here?
Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
Familiar with general laboratory protocol
2 years College Degree is required
BA/BS degree or four-year college degree in a Science related field is preferred.
Must be responsible, accountable, and take ownership of one’s work
Must possess the interpersonal skills to be able to interact with various levels of personnel & customers
Skilled in efficient time management to prioritize own work and meet business efficiency metrics

Compensation
The salary range estimated for this position based in Canada is $53,000.00–$55,000.00.
