As part of the Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) team (ULS brand), you have the opportunity to join a community of engineers who have strong customer relationships and confirmed technical knowledge within our ULS division.

How you will make an impact!

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we enable you to work autonomously and provide field service support to many different customers while developing your professional skills at the same time.

What you will do:

  • Repair, install, and maintain laboratory equipment, including incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and more
  • Schedule, prioritize, and complete detailed repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure peak uptime of customer equipment.
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience by listening, collaborating, and addressing customer needs.
  • Promote repair services, service contracts, and new equipment sales by understanding customer requirements.
  • Complete training on various equipment and product lines to meet customer needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and team members at all levels.
  • Uphold company core values of integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.

How will you get here?

Education

Post-secondary school diploma in electronics engineering or similar military certification. On-the-job experience and training may be accepted in lieu of these requirements.

Required experience

  • Two years of experience in field service position.
  • Knowledge and experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, temperature devices, etc.
  • Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical trouble shooting skills.

Preferred experience

  • Three plus years of field service experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards and certification
  • Proficient in servicing multiple vendor product lines with little direction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to operate computers, smartphones and related software efficiently
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and schedule your work with customers directly.
  • Resourcefulness in using various resources such as the internet, manuals, and peer advice to resolve issues.
  • Follows through on commitments and action items to ensure customer resolution and satisfaction.
  • Is responsive, and acts quickly to resolve issues with ordering, delivery or performance.
  • Outgoing, friendly personality with a passion for success.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance, and carry up to 25-30 Lbs. at times throughout the day.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective as required by the customer.
  • Drive to customer sites daily using a fleet vehicle..
  • Occasional overnight travel will be required.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
  • A passport or work visa is required
