Job Description

Ensure compliance with Canada customs laws, regulations and procedures.

Handle all aspects of import and export activities, including classification, valuation, and country of origin determination.

Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely clearance of shipments.

Collaborate with internal teams, such as procurement, logistics, and finance, to ensure accurate and complete customs documentation.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.

Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and communicate updates and changes to relevant collaborators.

Resolve customs-related issues or disputes in a timely and efficient manner.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with customs regulations.

Provide guidance and support to internal teams on customs compliance matters.

Establish and maintain relationships with Canadian customs authorities and other relevant government agencies.

Stay informed about international trade agreements and programs that may impact customs compliance.

Monitor and analyze customs data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.

Perform transactional activities related to the above areas of regulation.

Coordinate with other Canada Customs team members on various activities, such as uniform process development, CSA review for risk evaluation, and the review of products/services subject to Participating Government Agencies/SWI.
